After breakfast, our driver-guide will drive you to the cool highlands of Aberdare National Park. On arrival, enjoy lunch at the Aberdare Country Club before heading to your lodge, which is uniquely set in the forest. The afternoon is all about relaxing as you watch wildlife come to the waterhole — expect to see elephants, buffalos, and maybe even a shy leopard if you’re lucky.

This morning, you’ll head north to the rugged landscapes of Samburu National Reserve. This is a very different side of Kenya — dry, dramatic, and full of unique wildlife you won’t see anywhere else, like the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich. After lunch at the lodge, head out on your first game drive to spot elephants gathering along the Ewaso Nyiro River, lions resting in the shade, and perhaps a leopard at dusk.

Wake up to the sound of birds and head out for an early morning game drive when animals are most active. Samburu is a photographer’s paradise — golden light, elephants crossing the river, and graceful giraffes against a backdrop of acacia trees.

Later in the day, you’ll visit a Samburu village to learn more about the people who live in this region. The Samburu are closely related to the Maasai but have their own distinct traditions. You’ll experience their dances, hear about their way of life, and see how they herd cattle and goats in this semi-arid land. This cultural visit adds a beautiful human touch to your safari, giving you a chance to connect beyond the wildlife.

After breakfast, you’ll drive south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most inspiring conservation areas. It’s home to the famous rhino sanctuary, including the last two northern white rhinos on earth. Here, you can also spot the Big Five, see chimpanzees at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and enjoy a classic safari experience in a conservancy setting. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to this special place.
