Where does gorilla trekking take place?

Gorilla trekking is done in Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda.

How long is the gorilla trek?

The trek can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. You will spend one hour with the gorillas once you find them.

Is gorilla trekking difficult?

It can be tiring because you walk in the forest and sometimes on steep paths. A basic level of fitness is helpful.

Bring comfortable hiking shoes, long trousers, a rain jacket, gloves, sunscreen, and a camera.

Is a gorilla permit included?

Day 01 :

ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO HOTEL

Arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company staff for briefing about the safaris then introduction to your driver guide. Transfer to the hotel for
check in.

Day 02 :

KIGALI CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO MUSANZE

Today after taking your early morning breakfast,you will checkout of the lodge and drive to visit the Kigali genocide memorial centre, to learn from what happened during the 1994 Genocide. Against the Tutsi whereby 1 million Rwandans were killed in only 100 days. Later after lunch you will proceed with a drive to Volcanoes NP to
your booked accommodation, spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s trekking.

Day 03 :

GORILLA TREKKING AND CULTURAL TOUR

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters. After a short briefing about dos and don’ts about gorilla trekking, you will enter forest in search of the
gorillas. The trekking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle and your group speed as well. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one
hour. After then, return to your lodge for lunch, and after lunch, you head for a cultural encounter get an insight of Rwandan culture. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 :

GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING AND TRNSFER BACK TO KIGALI

Today after your warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer for a golden monkey trekking in search for these primates in the jungle. Just like
the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though no so hectic like gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kigali, if
time permits, head for a brief city tour, before your evening airport transfer.
