Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi in the morning. You will then drive through the highlands, crossing the equator on the way to Samburu. The scenery changes from green hills to dry open landscapes as you head north. You will arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive where you may see elephants near the river, giraffes, and the rare Grevy’s zebra. Later, relax at your camp and watch the sun set over the Samburu wilderness.

Full Day in Samburu – Game Drive & Village Visit

Start your morning with an early game drive while the animals are most active. Samburu is famous for the “Special Five” – Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. After breakfast, return to the lodge for some rest. In the afternoon, you will visit a traditional Samburu village where you’ll meet the locals, learn about their way of life, and enjoy songs and dances performed by the morans (warriors). Later, head out for another short game drive before ending the day with a beautiful sunset over the savannah.
